Escalation system in Quality Notification

Hi,

   Is there any escalation scenario is available in Notifications?

E.g: Some task is assigned to responsible person for particular time period, If task not at completed with in time period a escalation mail have to sent by the system to reporting level person automatically. 

Please provide your valuable suggestions to fulfill my requirement.
